INCENTIVES FOR THE TRANSFORMATION OF VEHICLES FROM PETROL TO LPG OR NATURAL GAS
The Emilia Romagna Region has renewed for 2010-2011 the financing it offers to municipalities participating in the "Let's Free the Air" campaign for converting privately owned gasoline-powered vehicles to natural gas or LPG.
The municipalities involved in this 3rd period of the program that have again decided (as in previous years) to employ the ACT Local Mobility Agency to handle disbursement of the environmental incentives are as follows: Bibbiano, Cavriago, Correggio, Quattro Castella, Reggio Emilia and San Martino in Rio.
Beginning on 4 January 2010, applications for obtaining these incentives can be filed with the municipalities of Correggio, Quattro Castella and San Martino in Rio. The remaining 2 municipalities will begin disbursements in early 2010.
Beginning on 1 April 2010, garages participating in the program can file applications for receiving eco-incentives for converting private cars owned by residents in the municipality of Bibbiano to natural gas or LPG.
Even though it is not one of the municipalities that received funds for the 3rd period, the municipality of Casalgrande has residual funds available from past years. As a result, participating garages can also receive incentives for the residents of Casalgrande. Unlike the other municipalities listed above, the incentives are:
- € 400.00 (Four hundred/00) - including taxes and fees - for each conversion to natural gas or LPG. This incentive increases to € 650.00 (Six hundred fifty/00) - including taxes and fees - for new vehicles registered after 1/01/2006;
- € 250.00 (Two hundred fifty) - including taxes and fees - for each conversion of other motor vehicles to LPG.
All other conditions are the are the same
Applications will be accepted only from garages who have decided to participate in this new program.
As in previous years, the installers participating in the program must fill out and sign (to indicate acceptance) a document entitled, "Regulations for Disbursing Incentives Payments". Although payments will be disbursed using the same procedures employed in previous years, several parameters have changed:
- The amounts of the incentives have been increased to € 500.00, and have been further increased to € 650.00 for vehicles registered after 01/01/2006 (NOTE: this does not apply to all Euro 4 vehicles, but only to those registered after this date)
- Authorizations expire 90 days after the date of issue. The invoice and a copy of the vehicle's registration bearing the sticker showing that the system has been tested must be sent within 90 days.
