Integrated Parking System Management

ACT runs the parking system in Reggio Emilia and in several municipalities in its province, as well as in the province of Modena. In Reggio Emilia, ACT manages a system of parking that is designed not only to facilitate access to the old city center and make traffic flow smoother, but also encourages the use of mass transit.

To enable motorists to leave their cars in suburban parking facilities and use public transit to reach the city, ACT runs a shuttle bus service that connects the center of the city to the corresponding suburban parking lots free-of-charge (to motorists who leave their cars in suburban parking areas).

ACT also issues permits for entering and parking in the Restricted Traffic Area (RTA) and the Pedestrian Area (PA) in Reggio Emilia.

The Municipality of Reggio Emilia has hired ACT to manage:

  • all paid parking areas with parking meters
  • the parking facilities located at: Piazzale Marconi, Viale Trento Trieste and Viale Isonzo (formerly the Zucchi barracks)

An ACT Minibus service (free-of-charge) also connects the interchange parking areas (Cecati, Boario, Polveriera) to the old city center.

ACT operates paid parking in other municipalities: Scandiano, Guastalla, Castelnovo Monti in the province of Reggio Emilia, and Sassuolo in the province of Modena.
